What do you get when you cross an elephant with camera phone? The Elephone EleCam Explorer Elite 4K Action Camera. Okay, that’s a terrible joke but an action camera (think GoPro Hero) that costs just $70 is not a joke. We covered a similar action camera not too long ago and there are a lot of similarities between the two. However, the biggest difference is that this one does not have a second LED display on the front.
The Elephone EleCam Explorer Elite 4K Action Camera is a budget action camera that costs a fraction of what a similar model from brands like GoPro will cost. We can’t pretend that you get the same quality and features as the branded cameras because you don’t. On the other hand, many don’t need that kind of quality either. While the camera cannot match the quality of GoPro’s latest models, it can certainly give a GoPro model from a couple of years back a run for its money.
What you do get though for that $70 is quite amazing. The Elephone EleCam Explorer Elite 4K Action Camera shoots in various modes from 4K 24 FPS right down to 720p 120 FPS. It can shoot in lower resolutions but you shouldn’t bother. The 720p 120 FPS is great for capturing slo-mo shots. It also has a time lapse mode with intervals between 1 second to 1 minute. The lens has a 170 degrees wide angle but there are options to narrow it down to as low as 70 degrees. Surprisingly, it even has a built-in gyro for image stabilization.
It connects via WiFi to both iOS and Android devices. With the free app, you can use your device’s display as the view finder or use it to make setting changes. You can also view or download photos and videos that are stored on the camera.
Last but not least, if you like accessories, you would love the Elephone EleCam Explorer Elite 4K Action Camera. It comes with a whole lot of items including waterproof case, bicycle mount and tripod adapters. The action camera is currently available from GearBest.
