The Equil Smartpen is a quick and easy way to put your thoughts to paper and have them instantly transferred to your iOS, Android, Mac or Windows device. Have you ever had a light bulb moment? The kind of moments where your thoughts normally ends up on a piece of paper napkin or whatever you can get your hands on at the time. With the Equil Smartpen, your thoughts can be on the paper napkin and digitized instantly for safe keeping at the same time.
The Equil Smartpen is not the first smartpen made available but it is one the first that does not require a specific type of paper. It works on just about any kind of paper from a notebook to a paper napkin. In fact, the smartpen feels and writes just like a normal pen. It even uses standard pen refills. The Equil Smartpen captures the gestures made when writing or sketching and it is pressure sensitive so that even the finest details are captured correctly.
Another unique feature of the smartpen is that text and sketches are captured in real-time and can be viewed instantly on a connected smartphone or tablet device. There is no need to connect to a computer to transfer the captured notes over.
Two different apps are made available – Equil Note for writing and Equil Sketch for creative work. Equil Note manages your written notes while Equil Sketch can customize your input with different utensils and brushes.

Captured notes can be configured to be automatically uploaded to a cloud service like iCloud or Dropbox. You can also quickly share any note via Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, or email.
The Equil Smartpen consists of two components, the smartpen itself and a Bluetooth receiver. The receiver is clipped to the top of the notebook and its function is to capture the gestures transmitted from the smartpen. A holder case holds both the pen and the receiver also doubles up as the charger for both components.
