I have been using the Exogear ExoMount car mount since the original model that came out a few years back. The ExoMount has a self-proclaimed “World’s Best Car Mount” labelling on its packaging. For me, the best feature about the original Exogear ExoMount is the durability of the suction mechanism. All other car mounts that I have used in the past all eventually failed because the suction no longer work as well. My oldest ExoMount is now more than 3 years old and it is still working like a champ. I live in a tropical country where daytime temperatures soar above 100 degrees but the ExoMount suction capability has not degraded one bit under the hot sun as far as I can tell. All I have to do is to give the suction cup a good rinse every few months.
I also loved the fact that the ExoMount works on not just smooth, flat surface but also curved, textured surfaces. My ExoMount is mounted on my car dash that has is dimpled and curved.
The only issue I have with the original ExoMount was that the clamping mechanism is two handed. This is not a big issue for me as I don’t have a need to mount or dismount my phone while driving.
The new Exogear ExoMount Touch Dashboard Car Mount not only improves on the original suction mechanism but has a new mounting mechanism that supports one-hand mounting and dismounting. The suction now not only works with textured and slightly curved surfaces, it will even work on the surface of a bare brick wall.
