There are several ways to get connected to the internet while you are abroad. None of them are truly easy, convenient and as reasonably priced as the GlocalMe G2, the world’s first global 4G WiFi roaming hotspot.
Most carriers do offer data roaming packages but these are usually exorbitantly expensive. A cheaper way would be to purchase a local SIM card at your destination. But this requires keeping swapping SIM cards around and it is only good for a single country. However this requires you to spend time buying and going through the hassle of setting up the SIM when you can be enjoying your holiday.
There are also special roaming SIM card packages that you can sign up online but these also just work with a certain country and you need to wait for the company to mail you the SIM card. Not ideal if you are doing this at the last minute and you are worried that your SIM does not arrive in time before you leave the country.
Of course you can always hunt for free WiFi hotspots but these are not usually very reliable or secured.
With the GlocalMe G2, you no longer have to worry about swapping SIM cards, signing up and connecting to a foreign carrier or expensive roaming charges. It is a single device that allows you to connect to the internet using a simple WiFi connection that supports up to 5 different devices simultaneously. That means that you can connect your phone, tablet, laptop or allow your family members to connect all at the same time.
GlocalMe G2 uses a virtual SIM and can be used in over 100 countries worldwide. You don’t need to insert in a SIM when you go abroad but it can connect to one of the local 4G/3G networks to provide you with connection speeds of up to 150Mbps. You don’t have to worry about connecting to the right network as it is all done automatically. Data packages are sold according to region and many are valid up to a whole year. There is a data cap for each package ranging from 1 to 3GB. After the cap is exceeded, data speed is throttled.
Alternatively, you can also pay as you use. Different countries have different rates but most are just €0.05 per MB. Data packages and data top up can be purchased online.
The GlocalMe G2 device runs on Android but it can be used by any phone or WiFi enable device. It has 3.5 in touch display and looks very much like a phone except that it is much thicker. This is mainly due to the 6,000 mAh built-in battery that is rated to last up to 15 hours.
