The 4 in 1 Travel Dispenser is the latest fad in travel gear. You may have seen it on viral videos. It seems like the ideal travel gear for storing and dispensing essentials like shampoo, conditioners and lotions. But does it really work?
If you haven’t seen the videos, this is how the 4 in 1 Travel Dispenser works. Remember those 4 in 1 pens that allows you to switch between 4 colored pens? This works the same.
Inside the dispenser container are 4 smaller 40 ml containers with a push pump. These 4 containers can be filled with your travel liquids, creams or gels. Once filled, place them back in the dispenser. Twist the top of the dispenser to select which liquid you want to dispense.
Press the pump to dispense. A set of pre-printed stickers are thoughtfully included to help identify each bottle. When not in use, the dispenser can be locked to prevent any leakage.

The 4 in 1 Travel Dispenser works exactly as advertised. It is handy and really practical to keep all your dispensables in a single container. No more rummaging through your bag or risk having a messy leak. For things like shampoo and conditioner, the 40 ml volume is sufficient for anywhere between a week to a month depending on usage.
Here are the other things you need to know and consider though. If you plan to carry the dispenser as part of your carry-on luggage, you need to check if it fits in the clear pouch. In our case, it fits but barely.
Secondly, the dispenser does take up a lot of extra space. Just compare the amount of space that the 4 smaller containers take up compared to the 4 in 1 Travel Dispenser. You have to decide if a well-organized toiletry bag is worth the extra bulk. If traveling light is not a priority then we say go for it.
