We are big fans of the Logitech K400 wireless keyboard. It is our favorite full-sized wireless keyboard for the living room. It comes with an integrated touch-pad that make navigating our Android-based TV set top box an easy task. Our only problem with it is the lack of illuminated keys which makes it unsuitable for use in a dark home theater environment.
Logitech has released the K830 Illuminated Keyboard to address this shortcoming. The keyboard illumination can be adjusted manually or automatically by using the brightness sensor. Like the K400, the touch pad supports multi-touch gestures.
The K830 Illuminated Keyboard is built a little sleeker than the K400 which allows it to blend in better in a home theater environment. The other improvement is the inclusion of a built-in rechargeable battery instead of the 2 AAA batteries used in the K400. A full charge lasts about 10 days based on 2 hours of typing at full brightness. If you are using the keyboard mainly as a keyboard for your home theater system, you should be able to use it for much longer than that.
