How many different applications do you think can be squeezed into a multi-tool the size of a key? Half a dozen? A dozen? We don’t really know the number of different ways that you can use the MyKee for but we bet it is a lot and definitely over a dozen. Perhaps as many as a hundred.
MyKee is a multi-tool made from titanium so it is super light and super strong. It was successfully funded on Kickstarter back in September 2015 with over 3,300 backers contributing over $126,000. It is the size of a common key at 2.2 inches long and weighs just 0.185 ounce. It even looks like a key and will nicely fit into any keychain.
This tiny multi-tool has a semi-sharp edge that can be used for opening boxes, slicing plastic packaging, opening envelopes, splitting a pill or even peeling a carrot. This edge is designed to cut when enough pressure is applied but it is safe to touch and will not cut your skin.
At the tip of the tool is what is known as the claw. It is prong shaped and can be used for prying lids, remove staple or help to open a soda can. Cleverly incorporated into the tool are 5 different hex sizes ranging from 4 to 10 mm. Last but not least, just like about every multi-tool in existence, of course it has a bottle cap opener.
To add functionality to the already very versatile MyKee is something called the KeyBits. KeyBits are tiny add-ons to the MyKee including an extender bit that lengthens the tool to provide the user with more leverage. The KeyBits lock in into the claw of the key tool. With the extended bits, the tool can be used as a flat head screwdriver and as a nail pry. The Keybits are sold separately.
