It would have been really cool if the RoboReel had turned out to be a robot that zips around your ceiling and ready to do all your bidding. Unfortunately, it is not. It turns out the RoboReel Ceiling Mount Power Cord System is a ceiling mounted power cord system that easily allows you to have access to a power cord from anywhere within 50 feet of the RoboReel.
Admittedly not as cool as we originally thought but still a rather cool gadget. This would be the ideal installation for a garage or a workshop where a ceiling mounted system is feasible. Imagine the money you’ll save from installing electrical outlets all over the room to ensure that you’ll always have an electrical outlet handy.
The RoboReel Ceiling Mount Power Cord System comes with everything that you need to securely install it on a ceiling beam. It even works with angled ceilings or if you want, you can mount it on a vertical surface like a wall. You will still need at least one outlet nearby to power up the RoboReel tough. But once installed, the included 50 foot extension cable is a great thing to have. The ceiling joint is a ball joint that allows the RoboRell to rotate a full 360º. At the end of the cord is a 3-outlet receptacle with an on/off switch for you to plug in your tools.
When you are done with the RoboReel, that is when the fun really starts. A click of a button on the outlet receptacle triggers a motor to reel back the extension cable. The motor has a 2-speed setting that slows down towards the end to prevent a whip lash effect. There is also a safety mechanism to prevent the reeling from working when the outlet is still powered up.
