Most of us can’t get through the day without our daily cuppa. That means turning to the coffee machine or a quick stop at the local coffee shop. Getting your daily fix is a little tougher if you are out there in the wilderness. The Wacaco Pipamoka is a compact all-in-one pressure brewer that makes this a whole lot easier.
The Wacaco Pipamoka is sort of a new take on the French press. However, instead of a plunger, this pressure brewer uses a screw twist to create a vacuum that drives the hot water through the coffee grind. What we really liked about the system is that it is really compact, requires no electricity and is really clean, requiring minimal cleaning.
All you need to prepare your coffee with the Wacaco Pipamoka is your coffee grounds and some hot water. First, you place the ground in the included coffee pod or filter basket. Then drop the pod into the water chamber and let it slowly sink to the bottom. This process takes about 40 seconds.
Once it drops down, give it a couple of taps to make sure most of the air in the pod has been expelled. Then close the water chamber with the provided lid and then slowly twist orange ring. This twisting motion pulls the pod from the bottom of the mug through the hot water while creating a vacuum. This creates the actual “coffee brewing” process. It takes about a minute to twist it all the way out.

The brewed coffee remains in the bottom mug which now doubles as a flask you can drink right out from. Transfer the lid from the pod holder to the coffee flask and you have pipping hot coffee that will stay hot for 2 to 3 hours.
If you have never tried pressure brewed coffee before, you should give it a try. Trust us, it is pretty good.
