Have you ever wondered how shops and businesses create those highly realistic cobwebs? There is actually a gadget available that helps you easily spin cobwebs by just pointing and shooting. Yup, just like Spidey does it. We’re not sure if businesses use the exact same device but the cobwebs we created with the Webcaster Gun II look just as good if not better.
The Webcaster Gun II looks very much like a hot glue gun and the reason for that is simple. It is a hot glue gun, but with an added attachment to connect to the blower of a vacuum cleaner. However, instead of using actual glue sticks (spraying hot glue all over your home would be a recipe for a major disaster), it uses Webcaster Sticks that looks quite similar to glue sticks.
As the gun heats up and melts the web sticks, the compressed air from the vacuum cleaner blows out strands of very professional looking cobweb that even Spidey would approve. A pack of Webcaster Sticks is enough to cover roughly 350 square feet of space.
The sticks come in multiple colors including black, neon orange and clear. There is even a glow-in-the-dark version that glows eerily with a black light.
As you might have guessed, the Webcaster Gun II is an update of the original Webcaster Gun. There is only a slight difference between the new gun and the old one but it is an important one. The original web spinning gun requires an air compressor to shoot out the webs while the updated version works with any size shop vacuum with blower port and a 1.25″ hose. Not everyone has a shop vacuum lying around but it is a whole lot more common than a 90 psi compressor for sure.
If you can beg, borrow or steal a shop vacuum with blower exhaust, your Halloween is going to be so much more fun this year.
